Who We Are
Operating since 1996, United Community Clinic (UCC) is a free health clinic coordinated by medical, nursing, social work, dental, and undergraduate students at the University of Pennsylvania. We are located at The African Family Health Organization (AFAHO) in Southwest Philadelphia. We draw upon the resources and expertise of this multi-disciplinary group of students to offer medical and social services to the African and Caribbean immigrants and refugees (ACIR) community. We offer multiple services such as physicals, health checks, high help with blood pressure and diabetes, dental and social services as well as help in signing up for insurance.
As a clinic, we believe that health is more than the absence of disease. We collaborate with residents and community partners to understand and address the health needs, both medical and social, of the Southwest Philadelphia neighborhood, with the goal of building a stronger and healthier community.
